Although initiated by Letterbox and kindly supported by RMIT University, Character has involved quite a few people along the way. These images give you a sense of what goes on behind such an event.

Compiling the films for the festival was a long but enjoyable job – it meant talking to a lot of filmmakers and type-nuts.

Here we see our intern Helen Neville making and constructing the Character boxes under the direction of design assistant Sam Hughes. Later on they run around in the chilly air of a Melbourne winter armed with a backpack of Character posters and a tape gun.
