Letterbox is now offering internships for those wishing to take a distinctly alphabetical slant to their careers.
How do I apply?
The application process involves the submission of an electronic portfolio (pdf) and/or a link to a portfolio site.
Those shortlisted are then interviewed in person or by skype and the final intern (1) chosen for that specific period.

How long are the internships for?
Studio internships are run for a period of ten (10) weeks. It is therefore not suitable for current students during the academic calendar.
In the fifth week of the internship a review will take place and give an opportunity for feedback etc.
Note: A current intern can apply for a consecutive internship.
What tasks does the intern do?
This will vary depending on the nature and breadth of skill bases. It is however anticipated that the intern will be working on both client and studio-initiated projects. Ideally an intern would contribute to the working culture of the studio. The intern is actively encouraged to use the studio library for research and further learning in the field of typography.

Due to the particular research projects in 2010, some skill in photography may be particularly fitting to the needs of the studio.

What are the hours?
9.30am –5.30pm with a lunchtime of 30 minutes (although this is flexible).
Is the internship paid?
The intern is paid $150 (AUD) per week to cover travel and food expenses.
