Kevlar is the sixth typeface released through The Letterbox. Kevlar was initially inspired by an obscure logo used in a 1960s advertisement. What caught our attention was that the upper half of the typeface appeared to be a sans serif whilst the lower half seemed to be a blend between a slab serif and script typeface.
First came Kevlar Bold, closely followed by a text weight Kevlar Regular. The original source of inspiration was then revisited to develop the third weight, Kevlar Slab, a curious mix of the script-like letterforms with the heavy weight of a slab.
