Orbit Oblique | A typographic tribute to the animals lost in space research

The first exhibition of typography at Melbourne’s Craft Victoria, Orbit Oblique featured a series of large medical x-ray units which acted as backlit typographic billboards, each one telling the story of an animal that had been sent up into the space during the space race of 1949-1990. The exhibition also featured the public release of Bisque, a typeface that made history by being the first to have its international rights auctioned on e-bay in 2007.exhibition at Melbourne’s. Opened by Dr Mark Davis (Melbourne University), the exhibition Orbit Oblique coincided with the publication of the same name.
