Going Viral

design Letterbox | curator Bruce Copland

Presenting an exhibition of disease to the general public is a tricky brief. In order to communicate the rich variety and history of these maladies, and how it has impacted upon Melbourne, a more lateral approach was taken.

Each disease is represented by a lampshade, using the metaphor of light to positively express the enlightened response to its cure or control. The windows featured a ring of fluorescent light – the visual motif for the show and printed material.
