Melbourne Sirius
design Letterbox | collaborator Dr. Rachel Buchanan
An extraordinary print project by any measure, Melbourne Sirius documents all 525 dead newspapers produced in Melbourne since 1838. This was a wonderful opportunity to typographically interpret the rich human stories throughout this thoroughly researched piece by writer, journalist and academic Dr. Rachel Buchanan.
Accompanying the listing is a selection of 175 mastheads from these fallen publications. 525 copies of Melbourne Sirius were handed out (for free) from outside the sites where many of these newspapers were produced.
