Sound & Typography
The exhibition Stereotyped explored relationships between sound and typography.
The titling developed for this show at Sydney’s Object Gallery made the most of the sweeping curved wall surfaces of the gallery. Each typographer was partnered with a musician of their choice (our collaborator was the Australian composer David Chesworth). The result was a poster display of hundreds of rhythmic representations of the letter ‘O’, itself a vocal symbol. The corresponding typeface names were then displayed on the reverse side.
