Rentfont presents a powerfully cynical reinterpretation of Paul Renner’s 1927 Futura, as the 1998 typeface Futures, composed entirely out of the logos of multinational corporations.

Playfully forecast as a future international default typeface, each letter is sponsored, making redundant the need for proprietary fonts. This second issue of the Ampersand series became the catalogue for the accompanying exhibition Rentfont at Citylights, an art project comprising of wall-mounted lightboxes in an alleyway off a pre-gentrified Flinders Lane in central Melbourne.

Rentfont was featured on the cover of design magazine Monument Issue 22. Rentfont was the second exhibition for the fledgling Melbourne art project Citylights (1998)
